Abstract
The study on the implementation of virtual courses at the Autonomous University of Bucaramanga is presented. It is sought to explain it by presenting a global vision (criteria and associated procedures), through a case study, from a qualitative approach, which allows betterunderstanding. The virtual course involved different actors: students, coordination teams,
counselors, and the LMS manager, who formed the under study population. The data was
obtained through documentary analysis and in-depth interview. The descriptive and analytical
procedure executed triangulation, deductive and emergent categorization, open and axial coding,
and interpretation and construction of meaning.
The results and conclusions describe the implementation of virtual courses, as a process
with a complex interactional dynamic that involves four dimensions: context, structure, function
and results.
