Abstract
The present study aims to understand the transmission mechanisms of exchange rate volatility on
the level of economic activity in developing nations. To achieve this objective, a document review
is carried out, performing a search in the Scopus database of all articles related to this topic for a
period of nineteen years (from 2001 to 2020). Among the findings, it is highlighted that there are
several channels of transmission of exchange rate volatility on economic growth, being the most
relevant in the current juncture, the effects on industrial production as well as their impact on price
dynamics.
