Abstract

The concept of a smart university is emerging, strongly anchored to smart technologies, and considered by different authors. Organizations, including universities need to incorporate smart technologies to take advantage of the capabilities they provide to transform their processes and driving them toward new organizational models. A Smart University focuses on improving its technological infrastructure for achieving their quality educational goals. This paper presents the key factors for adopting two smart technologies: Big Data and the Internet of Things. This characterization and integration allow us to conclude about the need for technology alignment with the organization’s processes, demanding more interaction with the high management.
