Abstract
The literary creation in the region of Santander is characterized by the positions and arguments between the promoters and opponents of a “santanderean literature”. Following Schmidt-Welle’s postulates on regional literature, the content analysis of interviews with creators and literary promoters, as well as the review and critique of documentary sources of Santander’s literary inventories, the article characterizes the visibility that the santanderean writers have had, the regional determinisms that have fostered the “santanderean literature” inspired by the authors of the 20th century, as well as a dynamic internationalist evocation of the santanderean people and landscape.
