Abstract

In recent years, there has been a trend towards the incorporation of projectbased learning (PjBL) into higher education, conceived as a comprehensive approach to teaching and learning in the classroom designed to involve students in authentic problems, encouraging research and the integral development of skills such as being, knowing and doing. In the same context, given the need to offer sustainable development responses, especially to climate change, the training of professionals in renewable energy is imperative. This article presents the planning and design process of the Renewable Energies subject of the Energy Engineering program of the Universidad Autónoma de Bucaramanga, in which it was possible to integrate a project-based learning dynamic that begins with the definition of competencies and PjBL activities applied to achieve them. As a result of the implementation of this educational strategy, it was observed greater interest on the part of the students and to involve them, obtaining better performance in the know-how. The quantitative evaluation of the subject applied to the students was analyzed, concluding a very good perception.
