Abstract

This paper aims to define the role of mental, conceptual and simulation models in organizational learning and policy design. A literature review was developed in the Web of Science database and through the bibliometric analysis software VOSVIEWER the co-citation analysis of the results was carried out in order to define the most relevant authors and publications. By reviewing the publications, it was possible to propose a definition of the role of models in organizational learning and policy design. The mental models participate as the vision of the world and the way in which it is interpreted, the conceptual representations represent in a simplified way a part of reality and the simulation models facilitate the visualization and evaluation by scenarios avoiding the risks of experimentation in the real world.
