Abstract
This paper shows how the performance of inflation has been under the inflation targeting policy applied in Colombia during the period from 1990 to 2016. The information used to carry out this work has been taken from the databases of the Banco de la República and the Departamento Administrativo Nacional de Estadística. Through the application of the Box-Jenkins methodology and the analysis of an intervention, it is concluded that the inflation targeting policy has been executed correctly and for the Colombia it has been beneficial in terms of reduced volatility in inflation and in terms of economic growth.
