Abstract

This paper shows the results of the mathematical model that describes the behavior of the amount of incinerable solid waste that has occurred in the city of Bucaramanga and the metropolitan area during the last years. This was done by plotting the points of the record and making use of the minimum square numerical method. Subsequently, the data was projected with series of Fourier and thus got the points of the amount of incinerable waste that will be produced in the next six years in Bucaramanga, which average will be 1,478x109 Kg/month. These methods let calculate additionally the energy capacity base on the amount and calorific value which could be exploited if they are treated in an incineration system. The energy capacity of the waste will be 2,622 thermal MW/day, 1,573 MW electric/day and 1,049 MW would be daily lost based on the typical energy distribution of a system of cogeneration.
