Abstract
Emerson DeltaV is a distributed control system (DCS) that works in a decentralized way and offers hardware and software for large applications and advanced control in the industrial sector. Currently, Emerson is targeting each system to specific industries, such as the oil, chemical, food, beverage, and pharmaceutical industries. This paper presents the design and implementation of an IoT monitoring system. The data acquisition and transmission system use the microprocessors, ATmega2560-R3, ESP32s, and MAX485; the data are transmitted from the DeltaV control system to a server arranged in Heroku. The server is programmed to manage the storage and consultation of the data, which is stored in a MongoDB database. The variables of the processes controlled by DeltaV can be observed and manipulated from a Web interface.
