Abstract

The purpose of this study is to know the relationship between academic performance and the pandemic caused by COVID-19 in secondary schools in the Metropolitan Area of Bucaramanga. The scope of the research is exploratory. On the other hand, the statistical method to be used is the STATIS (Structuration de Tableaux A Trois Indices de la Statistique), technique proper of multivariate analysis. The data to be used comes from the database of the Colombian Institute for the Evaluation of Education (ICFES) on the results of the Saber 11 state test of middle schools in the Metropolitan Area of Bucaramanga between the years 2018 and 2021. It is found that the institutions of the cities of Bucaramanga and Floridablanca obtain better results in the State test, contrary to the institutions of the cities of Girón and Piedecuesta. In addition, it was found that the year with the lowest results was 2020, followed by 2021, being the English area the most affected with low results.
