Abstract
Organizations, including universities, need to incorporate “Smart” technologies to take advantage of the capabilities they provide to transform their processes and drive new organizational models. At the international level, some examples have been given of universities that have developed the emerging concept of intelligent universities. At the Latin American level, by 2017, there were no consolidated bibliographical references on the subject. This article presents a characterization of two cases based on the analysis of the experiences presented by technology directors at events in Latin America and Colombia. This characterization allows us to conclude on the need for the alignment and integration of technology with the organization’s processes, demanding greater interaction with senior management.
