Project Details
Description
This project aims to develop a detailed energy balance for the Colombian industrial sector, considering different parameters such as subsector type, size, production capacity, and aggregated value. The outcomes of this project will serve as a valuable tool for proposing energy efficiency and low-carbon transition initiatives within this significant sector of the Colombian economy. The project will be conducted in two phases. In the first phase, energy consumption for each subsector and energy source will be identified. The second phase will involve characterizing these energy consumptions according to subsector size, capacity, and aggregated value, yielding insightful indicators related to energy use and efficiency. The results will then be mapped or grouped to establish potential pathways for energy efficiency and transition. By providing valuable information, this project has the potential to contribute significantly to the development of a more sustainable and competitive Colombian industrial sector. Policymakers and stakeholders will benefit from the project's findings, facilitating the formulation of efficient and low-carbon energy strategies and decision-making processes.
General Objective
Establish an energy balance of the Colombian industrial sector, adjusted to parameters of size, capacity or value added of the different types of establishments in each sub-sector, through data analysis, including statistical, regression and clustering analyses, to identify and formulate practical indicators that will help in the planning of energy transition strategies within this economic sector.
Specific Objectives
Generation of the database and characteristics of energy consumption and facilities in the Colombian industrial sub-sectors through statistical, regression and clustering analyses.
Analyze the data to identify trends in energy consumption related to size, production and value added in the Colombian industrial sub-sectors.
Analyze the data to identify trends in energy consumption related to size, production and value added in the Colombian industrial sub-sectors.
