The anesthesiology research seedbed is a group composed of general physicians, specialists, students, and professionals from other fields interested in research. The activities of this seedbed specifically aim to foster discipline in a medical specialty that encompasses different areas such as pain management, sedation, and general anesthesia
in surgical and medical procedures. Keeping abreast of advances in the field through literature review, we design relevant research projects that evidently over time generate an impact not only in the scientific realm but also in improving clinical practice, innovating in techniques, and reducing complications, through proper optimization of analgesia and sedation.


The anesthesiology research seedbed encompasses a broad and varied structure depending on the group's interest and proposed goals. It includes participation in conferences, presentations, and other activities. We seek interdisciplinary collaboration with other specialties to improve the quality of care in this area. For example, we have significant interaction with the field of epidemiology, where we can study incidence, risk factors, complications, among other things related to anesthesiology.


Line topics:
- Perioperative and postoperative management: Focuses on improving patient outcomes before, during, and after surgery. This includes strategies to optimize preoperative preparation, improve the safety and efficacy of anesthesia, as well as reduce the risk of perioperative complications. Methods to improve postoperative pain management and accelerate recovery are also investigated, such as the use of multimodal analgesia techniques and early rehabilitation.
- Neuroanesthesia: Involves the preoperative evaluation of patients with neurological pathologies, selection and administration of anesthetics to maintain brain function, neurophysiological monitoring during surgery, as well as postoperative pain management and prevention of neurological complications.
- Airway management: Centered on the study and optimization of airway management during anesthesia and resuscitation procedures. It addresses the evaluation of airway management techniques and the prevention and treatment of related complications, with the aim of improving the safety and efficacy of ventilation and preventing adverse events during anesthesia and resuscitation.
- Regional anesthesia: Focuses on the study and development of anesthetic techniques that selectively block specific regions of the body for surgical procedures or localized pain relief. Research on the efficacy, safety, and side effects of different techniques, pharmacology of local anesthetics, and strategies to improve the
accuracy and duration of nerve blocks.
